RECUPERATION EXAM

For those of you who need to take the sociology recuperation exam, here are some hints to help you do well.

1. Study the PowerPoints! Everything that comes on the test is from the powerpoints. If you understand the powerpoints, you will do fine. But that means more than just reading it, but understanding it conceptually.

2. Understand the vocabulary. The vocabulary part will be the same as it was on the final, only different sentences. Please study that vocabulary, otherwise, you will not pass. You can find the words on one of the previous messages.

3. Look at the previous messages to see what you need to study. Again, learn what is the nature vs. nurture argument please.

4. Be able to look at pictures and say how they show the male or female stereotype and how they conform to white male patriarchy (Hint: You will have to do this on your exam!)

5. The format for the test is close to the same as the final you just took:

Section A. Vocabulary (21 points)

Section B. Dominant Culture, Gender, Socialization (28 points)

Part 1. True or False
Part 2. Conform or Defy
Part 3. Short Answers

Section C. Stereotypes (51 points)

Part 1. Multiple Choice (26 points)
Part 2. True or False (10 points)
Part 3. Short Answers (15 points)

Any questions?

Mr. Isaac.
